Last year Google introduced starred product ratings on Google Shopping results in the US to assist customers with their purchasing decision. Since the initial launch and BETA testing with some great results, Google have now started to roll this out to across the UK and other European countries (France and Germany currently supported).
These product ratings appear in the form of starred review scores. This 5-star rating system represents aggregated review data from numerous sources including merchants, third party review aggregators and editorial websites.
Starred product ratings can assist consumers to make better purchase decisions before they click through to your website, ultimately driving more qualified traffic to sellers participating on the platform.
Testing of this in the US resulted in average click-through rate increasing by around 5% on Google Shopping Ads and allows you to stand out against the competition in your market.
